there's only a fewhundred malware families, new malware familieson a monthly cadence. and one thing that we seeabout the ecosystem is this. We have over 80 billion filesthat we have the metadata of, we have trillions of urls indexed, and what that allows usis to see the ecosystem. over a month,we see 1.2 billion unique devices. so that's every day, 1 billion unique calls intoour protection service. well what we do with all that data? how much data do we really have? over 1 billion calls a dayto our protection service. and obviously we dogfood it also to ms it.
#REVIEW BEST RANSOMWARE PROTECTION 2017 WINDOWS#
so it's not just that we protectthem, we can see malicious emailĬampaigns that go through office365 for users that use a different anti malware, learn from it, andthen protect windows defender users. and the cool thing about it is thatwe get a lot of telemetry back. we also protect microsoftonline services, like bing, skype, office 365. so it's not just yetanother anti-malware running there. we are on most skus of server, starting with server 2016, optimized for server as well. there is no anti-malware to deploy, you just need to configure. Its awesome because you don'tneed to deploy anything.

we are on every endpoint prettymuch by default which means that we fill a lot of computers andif you're it pros, so you might have heard a lotof keynotes over the past couple of days and talks aboutthe big data that we have. It takes a while untilthe brand comes out, so you might still see scep. whether you use it at home, like you said, in your company, windows defender.

we are also known assystem center endpoint protection, microsoft security essentials, forefront endpoint protection, onecare, might have heard ofall of those, same exact common anti-malware platform and over theyears, we've had the different names for the different,it's windows defender now. Great, sohopefully by the end of this demo, more of you will go out and try us. just to get kind of set offeel of the people here, how many of you are usingwindows defender? > or in your company? what about sceps, system center endpoint protection? okay, very few to none.

we want to show you what we've doneespecially around cloud protection using our big data. we've been improving a lotin the past couple of years. i kind of want to start andtalk about why we're here. if you heard us talk previously, this is a repeat, so nothing new for you guys. if you're here to learnabout window's defender, you're at the right theater. this is randy, my colleague, and we're from the windowsdefender engineering team.
